Now I am very aware how rampant and deeply rooted in society fatphobia is. As a big girl myself I’ve loved it but also I’m educated so I have read research on it but oh my goodness it’s really getting so sad and annoying.
Like scrolling on here, I see so many posts about people describing themselves and after they put their weight or build they say “oh but I’m working on it”. I understand everyone is going through their own journey and can do what they want. But sometimes they won’t even be overweight and it makes me sad.
Having fat doesn’t make you unhealthy. BMI is a flawed system of measurement and should not be the driving force behind weight loss in my opinion. Neither should trying to “look better” or to get a partner because there are people who look all kinds of way that are happily in love. And being smaller doesn’t mean you look better anyway.
But most importantly people have to work in themselves mentally. If you hate yourself when you’re big and you try to lose weight thinking that will help, it won’t. You have to love yourself for who you are and then your best self will emerge.
But anyway I just wanted to say that you don’t have to lose weight to make yourself more attractive or appealing, you’re great the way you are 😊👍🏾
