I’ve been with this company 10 years, I love what I do and I’d like to think I’m pretty good at it. A few years ago we had someone join our crew and I am now learning that they are spreading malicious rumors about me, some of them VERY inappropriate. I spoke to management to start an investigation and nip this in the bud.
On a slightly different (but likely related note), I have my direct manager telling me I am not being approved to learn different job positions or operate machinery I’ve been operating for years; both in this company and outside. I was also told that apparently I was not even authorized to do the job I’ve been doing for years (I never got re-approved post pandemic and that was disproven by another manager).
I’m frustrated because I don’t know if the 2 are related, if someone is intentionally holding me back for some obscure reason (I’ve spoken to a few leads and nobody has given me any meaningful notes to improve on, just tiny things). I haven’t been able to get an answer from my managers as they want to meet together and they work different shifts and both are rarely around when I am. About the only thing I can do is sit, wait and formulate answers to any objections I can predict and try to think of a steward I trust and want to rope into this.
Earlier today when I asked about training I got told I would have to wait for the meeting to even learn WHY I won’t be trained/approved. I’m anxious and frustrated and I feel like I need to be proactive, but idk what to do about it AND without a reason, I don’t even know where to direct that effort in a meaningful way
