Going backwards
Post Body

Did a ride yesterday with a big climb, and got dropped by a guy who I was outclimbing a few weeks ago. Was kind of depressing.

I'm guessing I'm just tired and need to back off, but it's hard to say... it's not like I ride that much. A good ride on Saturday or Sunday (4-5 hours), a couple of hours Tuesdays and Thursdays, and maybe some indoor trainer on Wednesday (30 minutes to an hour at not very high intensity). It doesn't feel like that much and I'm having a lot of fun.

It's been years since I raced or even trained in a semi-regular fashion, so it's been very nice to steadily lose weight and feel faster. Which made that 'going backwards' feeling all the worse.

I don't have the inclination to get too scientific about training, with a HRM or power meter or that kind of thing - I'm not fast nor ever will be, so eking out that extra bit does not matter. I just want to continue to improve, though.

Ideas? Thanks!
