I'm getting clipping on unedited audio tracks and I don't know why. They play fine through vlc and windows movie maker, but seem to amplify themselves when I import them into vegas and this is resulting in clipping. Right now I'm making a video about the witcher netflix show and the files used are either from the show or an mp3 song so they should be fine. Despite all of the video clips coming from the same place, I'm having to do a lot of tweaking to make everything the same volume. The video files are M4Vs that I did not convert. I don't know if this makes a difference, but the audio from the video files is 4 channel and the song is an mp3.

Every audio track comes with three default fx on it. You could go into the track fx and delete them and see if that fixes it.
