Got a weird craving, made some fried chik'n, I go to get it out of the oil and realize I have no paper towels for draining... I scramble around for something else to use. Coffee filters? Nope, none. Newspaper??? Nuh-uh.
Chik'n is starting to get too brown, and I frantically ask my brother if he has anything papery and absorbent we can use. He hands me a stack of printer paper.
It worked... alright? Ish? There weren't any clean plates, and I didn't feel like doing dishes at the moment so I'm just sort of eating off one of the pieces of paper.
Could have been worse. I briefly (briefly.) considered using a sanitary napkin, but I'm not ready to stoop that low in my life just yet. That's somewhere between "eating ramen noodles with a toothbrush because all other utensils have vanished" and "literally eating an unknown crunchy thing you found on the floor of the car", I think. Probably closer to the latter.
The chik'n was great, if you're wondering.
