I really love trying new foods, and I finally got to try some natto today. All the packages that came with the seasoning packets had fish oil and stuff in them and I was too lazy to mix up my own so I just wound up having some plain.
From the descriptions I read online I was really bracing myself for something... I dunno, pungent? I was really surprised just how mild and... unobjectionable it is. Just tastes like beans to me, maybe with a hint of something sweet and a little bitter. I really liked the sliminess that seems to put a lot of people off, too; not too surprising since I'm an okra fiend. I wound up scarfing the whole package, it really grew on me.
Anyone else here tried/like the stuff? How do you like to eat it? I have four more packages to use up.
I also got some really freshly made soymilk while I was out. Shit is the bomb. Try it if you never have!
