Hey /r/Veeam,
Apologize in advance if this has been asked 100 times. But it doesn't seem I'm getting a straight answer from Veeam support about the changes to the licensing model.
With Veeam Update 4, my understanding is that they introduce instance licenses. My understanding (which may be outdated) is that Instance Licenses replace Rental Licenses. This was actually told to me by Veeam support about 3 months ago. Since then:
Support Conversation 1: "Yes! You need to change licenses types when you upgrade."
Support Conversation 2: "I'm not sure, let me check up on this."
Support Conversation 3: "No, you don't need to switch Rental Licenses with Instance Licenses."
Veeam Rep: "I'm not sure, let me check with an engineer."
Veeam Rep #2: "I don't think so... that doesn't sound right... but i'm not sure. Let me double check."
If someone can provide me a clear answer, I would greatly appreciate it.
