UPDATE: I had the procedure a day early because of the snow storm. Other than feeling a lot of pressure and discomfort, I got through. Now is the recovery! Thank you all for sharing!
I am having my vasectomy on 12/17 and had some questions based off of what I have heard from other people.
1) typically how long does the surgery take and how did you feel immediately after?
2) to those of you who had the surgery while have an infant and/or toddler at home, how tough was it to manage your recovery while trying to corral a small child? Did you avoid carrying the kid and if so, how long?
3) I have heard that a jock strap is definitely helpful. Can anyone recommend a great jock strap? Preferably one that would be good for a 6โ4โ skinny guy.
4) if you did get a jock strap, how long did you have to wear after your surgery?
5) I know that a few months after the surgery, to follow up to make sure I have a 0 sperm count, but even if I do have 0, should I do an additional follow up to make sure the number stays at 0? Are there any at home test available that I can do in addition? My wifeโs body can not handle another pregnancy as she has developed a lot of health issues because of the last pregnancy and I feel that I am 1000% done having kids so we just donโt want any slip ups.
Thank you all in advance!
