So I conducted a poll asking people who had a vasectomy more than 3 months ago whether they were experiencing pain and significant complications.
Obviously, there are many issues with this poll and its design, by no means do I know anything about conducting polls, and so, for instance, I never defined what 'significant complications' were, I just let it up to the respondents to decide what they could be.
So the majority of respondents, 75.4% (46 respondents), said their vasectomy after 3 months was painless and without complications. A minority of 24.6% (15 respondents) responded that after 3 months they continue to experience pain or other "significant complications."
I know the poll is not scientific, nor is there any regulation to how it was conducted, we rely on respondents' frankness, and the pool was small at 61 votes only.
In any case, there are a couple of things to be said:
it seems like most people are happy with their vasectomy but it is also important to acknowledge a significant minority are struggling with pain and/or other complications.
Given this sub is for people who are asking questions and experiencing issues of all kinds, I think we must assume that the sub is probably populated by a considerable number of people who are either trying to get info on this procedure previous to getting one, right after getting one or are having issues. So, if we still get a majority of positive responses, and we assume that a lot of vasectomized men are out there having fun and not giving two f-cks about this sub, then we are probably safe to assume the number of people who are happy with their vasectomies is probably higher than 75%.
The results are below, and please let me know your thoughts.
