I'm about to go to the clinic in a half hour to get it done today. Honestly, it's taken me a long time to make the decision and I can say I am pretty scared about getting any complications like granulomas. I know, not the best mindset right before doing it. I'm doing it because I know it's the best thing to do, but still. I will post updates.
UPDATE 1: Just literally stepped out of the clinic. My procedure ran late, took about an hour when I finally went in. My case was unusual in that the doctor had told me from day one that my scrotum was tight and he’d have to pull my vas and manipulate them more than normal and would not be able to bear the pain with local anesthesia. So they completely put me out. Put in IV in me and few minutes later I was out. When I woke, all woozy and confused, they told me to get dressed and my wife came in, nurse gave me some some follow up indications. Sent me home. Doctor didn’t even talk to me (which was kind of disappointing, bit of a smug douche, but chose him because he’s got like 40 years experience and has done, in his own words, 1,000s of vasectomies).
Anyhow, I feel still somewhat numb and feel like I got kicked in the balls playing soccer, which I used to play a lot (and got my good shares of nut kicks). I’m lying in bed for the rest of the day, icing and popping Tylenol. Hopefully it goes well from here.
Thanks to all who gave me some words of encouragement. I was literally freaking out before hand. And the wait just made it so much worse. It was not that bad, just hoping it goes smoothly from here.
