Getting the snip and doctor suggested general anesthesia.

Hi all, so I’ve been thinking about getting the snip for at least a couple of years and finally scheduled one today. After the doctor examined my parts, he said he recommends doing the procedure under general anesthesia, given my scrotum was too tight or something of the sort. He said with local I’d actually feel pain and be quite uncomfortable.
Anybody else went through similar situation?
