Blown away by the subtank (nano)
Post Body

I've been out of the loop with vaping for a while. I've still been vaping, but my excitement for it died down a while ago, and it didn't feel like a hobby anymore. I have been surviving on a faulty SID, and just using Smoktek DCTs.

When I last bought vaping gear, the protank II was brand new, and while it was an improvement on the protank in some ways (and a huge improvement on the T3 which I used prior) it had a tight draw and still had problems with gurgling and occasional leaking. I also never had much luck getting the coils to last long, even at low wattage. Sometimes I'd take only a few puffs and end up with a mouthful of burnt wick.

So, I finally started running low on my stockpile of boge carts for the Smoktek tank, and figured I'd buy a new device to replace the very faulty SID. I ended up going for a VTR2.0, and it came with an iClear 30S. This thing is amazing compared to any of the prebuilt tanks (either top or bottom) that I had used in the past, and I realised vaping products had come a long way in a short time. I decided to check out what else was new out there and came across the subtank.

Well, it arrived today. I'd gotten used to using high nic (45mg/g) 100% PG so that I puff less and my carts last longer, but I wasn't really enjoying it. I had even stopped putting flavours in it. So, I heard that you should drop the nic content with the subtank, so I mixed up a 30mg/g batch of T-Juice (which also arrived today and is delicious) at 40/60 (PG/VG). I fired it up at 15W, and it nearly blew my god damn head off. I have since mixed up some other flavours at 18mg/g, and I'm astonished that I can be vaping such low nic juice and finding it satisfying. It really feels a lot more comfortable on my lungs too.

This thing doesn't gurgle, the draw is open enough to lung it, it doesn't leak, and I've been vaping obsessively all evening without getting a single dry hit. I've now got all these cartos and iClear heads that I'm not sure I want to use, and I have some pink spot juices in the mail that are 36mg/g, and I'm beginning to wish I ordered 18mg/g. I guess I will use those juices and cartos when I need to stealth it.

This is what I always wished vaping was was like. Now I'm wondering what a high wattage and the 0.5Ohm coil is like. I didn't even realise non-mechs could go higher than about 15W until after I bought the VTR. I guess I'll be upgrading my device again soon :/

tl;dr: The subtank is the first tank I've ever used that actually gives me a satisfying vape without any noticible drawbacks.
