Today I went to a vape shop local to my office in London as I was looking to treat myself with some pre-made coils for my Zues RTA - only to find that they don't stock any DIY coil materials at all. Not even cotton. And this isn't unusual in today's market. This seemed like madness to me given the waste generated from disposables, not to mention the restrictions on flavours and the cost!
The shop owner explained that people are more interested in disposables but typically not the brands you'd get from a dedicated vape shop. Instead, stores that are not dedicated vape stores, which are otherwise electronic shops or some other general alternative, are stocking larger capacity, non TPD compliant disposables for dirt cheap, and it's shifted the market. They are able to get away with this as they're not listed as "Tabacconists" so they aren't subject to so many checks by local authorities.
Given that I'm a DIY coil builder and stock up in large droves, as well as make my own liquid from materials purchased online, it's been a while since I've been into a vape shop. So, I wanted to see if this aligned with the wider user base.
TL:DR - have any of you sub-ohm vapers abandoned your rebuildables in favour of disposables given the wider potential shift in the market?
