I did vanlife in NZ for 3 months with my ex back in 2019! Hands down my favorite country to travel! Beautiful country you have! And amazing people!
I dropped my fuel tank a year ago and cleaned her out! Ufff fuel system woes are a thing!
I love this story so much! Thanks for sharing!
UPDATE! The mechanic and his family were the nicest family from Honduras! He was so happy to let me help as he has one himself. His sons barely spoke English so we all spoke Spanish. He taught me alot and asked me to help him. We checked the computer itself and after day 2 found the shorted ground wire in the connector to the fuel pump relay. He showed me a temp fix and got me to my friend's safely where I'm waiting on the relay and connector to get delivered tomorrow! They let me stay in their lot overnight and were all around great humans! I understand if a mechanic doesn't want someone watching and will obviously respect it but so many won't work on these old things so most who do have alot of pride in sharing the westy knowledge! I'm ready to get her up and running again tmrw! Thank goodness it wasn't the computer as that's a $400 part! Happy trails.
It was the fuel pump relay and connector. The ground wire from the pump shorted! I ordered the parts and they come tomorrow!
No def not. Countless in 6 years but first in 1.5 years on the road. I got the manual and she has served me very well!
I've fixed most or her myself over the years with alot of youtube help!
