Thinking about Van Life full time (Need advice)
Post Body

Background about me. I'm 42 years old, have 75k in savings and a house (paid off) worth 325-350k

In Oct 2022 I hurt my back, I don't struggle but the pain is sometimes unbearable. I can't work, and I won't go on disability. (God Forbid I need more money, I have jewelry, luxury watches I can sell)

I already have an idea of what kind of van I want (Mid 2000s Chevy Conversion) or buy a Chinook RV if it's extremely low mileage. (Also I have a paranoia of buying anything with over 100k miles even if it's 15-20 years old. Like serious paranoia)

Here is the dilemma, after I purchase what I plan to live in would you sell the home? (it's close to 4k sq ft, I don't need that much room) or would you rent the home? I believe I can atleast get 3k-3500 a month but I dont know if there is a market? I live 25 minutes from Downtown Chicago but I Haven't found houses like mine on the market for rent?

On the flip side, I believe with my savings, sold all my watches, jewelry, sports memorabilia and the house I could easily live comfortable till I die.

I am ready to pull the trigger by the summer time and be on the road God willing by next September/October.

what do you suggest?

thanks
