let me say, that i think the actor is amazing. i think she has a different kind of grit and spirit than book claudia and the attachment between louis and claudia is very clear. but …

at no point has the show shown the same kind of “one happy family” that was in the book, or even in the movie. there is no connection between claudia and lestat. it’s true that lestat created claudia to make louis stay, but lestat did grow to love claudia in his own way. now it’s just a growing resentment. their relationship is not the same at all.

i hate to say it but i think aging claudia up has ruined the character. she was louis and lestat’s child, their reason for life and love for decades. her age necessitated the vampires as parent figures. we missed lestat doting on her, cultivating her into a miniature version of him, the whole brat daddy/brat daughter dynamic.

i just feel like the show isn’t doing claudia justice as far as the relationship with lestat and louis goes.
