Which Vampire Chronicle is your favourite, and which do you think is objectively the best?
For example, for me:
The Vampire Lestat is my favourite. Despite its many flaws (the expositionception) It's honestly my favourite book ever written.
The BEST Vampire Chronicle? This comes with a caveat: You must have read all twelve of the others.
Blood Communion, Anne's last book.
Not because of the content of the book, but because of how well it's written.
Anne made 270 pages feel like a hundred. The thing I hate the most about Blood Communion is that it isn't longer. I devoured it in a day.
But between the whip-smart prose of Anne at the apex of her talent and her giving us a satisfying conclusion to The Vampire Chronicles; Blood Communion is the "Best" Vampire Chronicle in my limited opinion.
(Second "best" is Blood Canticle for the exact same reason)
