TLDR: do certain monitor/headset configurations not work in steam vr or do all ports work for your headset with different monitor spots
Prior to this I hadn’t had any issues with the first DisplayPort I plugged my headset into..
I just recently got my pcs Back from the shop my and my old shelf one doesn’t recognize my headset anymore on any of the display-ports, given that the problem that croaked it in the first place was a bad gpu install I had assumed all 3 ports got hurt in the chaos :<
I took it to the shop with my new one that had minor boot problems and wouldn’t save bios settings, that ran vr on steam before I put everything back in that one and when windows booted up it was black screen, very scary but I learned it was trying to desktop to my headsets display, which eventually stopped when it recognized steam vr again but I learned that particular display port wouldn’t video to steam vr either but the others did 2 of them (thank god) The one that was trying to screen to my desktop wasn’t recognized in the app
Basically I just want to know if other people have certain displays configurations that don’t work with theirs too of if my headset/computers has weird video problems that need to be fixed :\
I just learned about gpu priority And I think this will help me narrow it down)
The motherboard on my new one is causing boot problems so who knows it may be pcie related, I also get latency and bad motion smoothing with high cpu temps on more than capable hardware but it’s really got me in the dumps because I want to see my vr friends again,I’ve known some of them for more than a year.
