New Valve Index owner - tracking has suddenly become frustratingly jittery

Hey guys. I got my Index yesterday and everything worked fine at first. However when I wanted to continue with half life alyx today the tracking suddenly became very twitchy. If I turn my head it will kinda snap back and forth.

This is my first experience with VR and I have no clue what to do to troubleshoot this... I have already tried to cover up anything reflective in the room but it didn't work. I just want to play VR...

Any ideas?

Edit: It ended up being DX11 for some reason. I'm not sure why but it no longer works correctly for me. After swapping to Vulkan my problems magically disappeared.
