Hello!
I've been a long time on the sub and I'm finally ready to purchase a higher-end vacuum, as I now own a home and have been getting by I'm pretty janky vacuums beforehand in the previous places I have rented.
Now that I am in a permanent residence I am looking to buy a good and do not mind dropping a good amount of cash for something that'll last long and cover all my needs!
As far as my home details:
-my budget is up to around $1000 if it's something that will last a long time with proper care
-it is a one-floor single-family home that's about 1,200 ft and has no stairs
-the flooring is mostly hardwood with a few rugs scattered about (2 large area rugs, one medium one, and a runner rug)
-there are four cats that live here so pet hair and dander is a big factor for whatever vacuum I buy and I do have one pretty large sectional couch that is a pet hair black hole
-Currently, I have an irobot Roomba and irobot braava mop for daily cleaning, a shitty cordless vacuum for spot cleaning, and a old filter queen vacuum that I got as a hand-me-down but is older than me and seems on its last legs.
So what I'm looking for is something that I could use for deep cleaning around once every week that is reliable, has powerful suction, and will be really good for picking up pet hair off upholstery, carpet, and hardwood flooring.
I've come across a couple brands that are well reviewed such as miele, sebo, and Henry, but I feel a bit out of my depth with all the options that are available and know that this is probably a great subreddit to come to to seek guidance!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and hopefully somebody can lead me in the right direction so I don't end up buying to wrong vacuum for what I'm looking for!
Edit: I ended up going to my local vacuum store and trying out a couple of models in store. Decided to get the SEBO Airbelt K3 and per one of the comments definitely ordering the premium parquet brush. It's already better than anything I've ever had before and hopefully it'll last me a long time!
