I'm looking for a vacuum to use on MOSTLY hardwood floors (there's 1 area rug and 1 giant yoga mat rn) There's no pets in the house but plenty of long haired humans and a messy small human Budget around 500CAD but if the difference is significant then higher could be justified since there will be no cordless/hand/stick vacuums
I did review some suggested information but left with more questions than when i started.. After reviewing the "newbie start here guide" I noticed canister is optimal but couldn't understand why (an explanation would be appreciated)
Skimming the BIFL recommendations I noticed there's only bagged, but my concerns are if replacement parts will be available indefinitely(bags and potentially breaking parts)
My issue with the current vacuum is that a piece of the vacuum head to put the handle upright has broken and I was unable to find a replacement so it just.. lies in the ground as an obstruction when I'm not actively using it (It was my first time using a canister so it's influenced opinion of "upright>canister") But efficiency matters most! Any advice is appreciated (Sorry if I messed up formatting or missed a required piece of info)
