My friends and I are looking for a summer vacation spot during the first couple weeks of August. We’d like to go for 4 nights from Wednesday to Sunday with 7 travelers in total.

We’re all based in New York, so we want a place that’s within reasonable driving distance (8-10 hours max). We’d like to go somewhere that either has a beach town vibe, lush nature, or just generally a lot of fun things to do. Being that this is the first summer where the whole group is 21, an area with good nightlife is ideal.

We’ve already been to Wildwood New Jersey and Virginia Beach, so we’re ruling out those two places since we don’t want any retreads. We were considering Vermont, but I couldn’t really find much information on nightlife or things to do.

If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations on what we should do, please let me know!
