ISP said not to use vpn, tried to see my browser history
Post Body

My internet became suddenly really slow. It was showing 0.5 mbps from the usual 4 mbps. I called my isp guy, he told me to install screen sharing software and then he forwarded the call to his boss who isp guy gave my screen sharing software id to.

Boss ran speed test on my net then he went to start-> all programs where he found a vpn which I had installed like a year ago and used a trial offer of. He started scolding me for using vpn , asked me if I do illegal stuff on vpn. I tried explaining I use vpn to reduce my ping but he just ignored me and kept being disparaging.

He asked what I use the net for, I answered to mostly browse social media. He then opened chrome again and went to speed test, meanwhile he pressed three dots on top right. I thought he was going for incognito window but he moved pointer downwards and hovered over history where chrome showed 5 urls. He ended call by saying not to use vpn on his net.

I would have switched ISP by now but the only other net provider in my area is adsl which is really unstable and only gives 2 mbps. I need advice on what to do now.

TL;DR - ISP on screen sharing software saw I had a VPN installed, berated me for using vpn and took a peek at my chrome history.
