Hello all, I have had my PQ65 for over 6 months now. I love the picture of the TV (especially for the price point). However, I am struggling with the "cooperation" between the TV and my AppleTV 4K. Please note, this is my second PQ65 as the first was replaced due to a coil hum. I am getting to a point where I am fed up with these issues and am considering returning it.
- HDMI 1 does not play my AppleTV in Dolby Vision (DV). When moving the same HDMI cable into HDMI 2 or HDMI 3, the content will play in DV as expected but not HDMI 1. My first TV did the same thing except it was HDMI 2 that would not play DV content and HDMI 1 that would (I have been using Monoprice cert. HDMI cables since day 1).
- When initially selecting content on Netflix, the lag between pressing the button and actually playing the content could be up to 10 seconds. Often I am met with a black screen and the Vizio TV info bar will flash a time or two.
- When selecting content on Netflix, as soon as it starts to play, the content is automatically paused (about 80% of the time). It does not do this with Hulu or Amazon video via ATV4K
- Today, I purchased a subscription to HBO NOW. When I tried to play content on HBONOW, the menu worked, but as soon as I selected my show, the ATV and TV stopped displaying content and started displaying "No Signal." I had to uninstall/reinstall the app twice in order to eliminate this (plugged the ATV into another 4K DV TV and had 0 issue with it playing, ie. it was the TV).
- CEC with ATV can cause the TV to go crazy. I am using a sound bar (connected through audio optical) and when I turn the TV on from off, then turn on the ATV, the TV might freeze or even turn off.
From reading post after post, it sounds like a lot of these posts are about similar issues (albeit, the 1.6k community has to be a small subsection of Vizio customers).
- Does anyone have any advice on how to fix these issues?
- Has anyone successfully requested a refund through Vizio? If so, how?
- Does anyone have any similar issues with competitor TVs?
Thanks in advance!
