We have a new hire starting this week. Because of budget we had to make this a very entry level position.
The guy we hired is very eager to learn but overall he has very little applicable experience with live production systems. Long term goal for myself and the team I'm building is to develop jack of all trades kind of techs. People who could speak intelligently into audio video and lighting needs. Right now, just the way we have been setup, video is our main responsibility soon we will slowly branch out to be involved in the audio and lighting systems in our facility.
So to the question, any particular order I should be training him or specific things that I should cover first? My current plan is to the spend the next 2-3 weeks going through the video system identify each part and its purpose, basic troubleshooting, and how to make cables (BNC and CAT).
Any advice on this would be much appreciated!
