So, i really like VHS. But there s something I really can't make sense of. It's not the ridiculous queue times, it's not the lack of a sound alert when you're tabbed down and a game is found after 15 minutes so you re supposed to just sense it somehow or check every 5 seconds. It's not even the fact that after those 15 painful solo queue minutes you get matched with teens that don't ping and your chances are zero from the start.
It is how stupidly small the monsters terror soundtrack is, which brings to the following consequence: if the monster heads to the crafting station where you are when you're not finished crafting, it's a free hit. Period. No counterplay to be had, no skill issue. You hear the very first beat, you know you're getting hit. Argue all you want but there's nothing you can do. Run away? He can already hear you. Walk away? You can't go far enough. Hide there? He s going to circle the station and find you. Also he has detection skills. Also A LOT of station points are dead ends where you can only go TOWARDS the monster if you want to get out. Is this intended? The monster guesses what station you're at, the moment he hears you crafting you will get hit? Because if it is, it's really not much fun. You re randomly selected to start your game with a health state less and potentially getting downed, which makes you vulnerable to tunneling too. I'd like to have at least a small chance to escape a monster coming my way before it's too late. Currently, if he has half a brain cell, that won't happen.
