I watch the beastcoast crew a lot but I find it rather difficult branch out. There are other players I do enjoy watching but they upload or stream very infrequently. As for the rest, I'm sorry but some of the aspiring content creators for VGC just lack a marketable personality.
I don't think you need to sell out or make your content PG for the kids. However, it's hard to sit through a match of pure salt. I wont mention the streams and videos I've watched because it'd just start a pointless witchhunt. I get the frustration of battling sometimes but it's super awkward to watch someone go on a long rant about how skill-less their opponent is for doing the most basic actions like setting up screens on grimsnarl, hitting make it rain on ghouldengo, or sending out tatsugiri when dondozo is on the field.
It's almost like an opponent making any reasonable move will trigger some content creators and it's not fun to watch. Most of us have seen these pokemon and know what to expect. Any decent team will at least have an idea of playing against these elements. It's fine to get outplayed and lose sometimes. It's also likely the audience you're looking to grab has some of these elements on their team, meaning you're insulting them as well. I don't know why anyone would think watching a grown man cry every game is enjoyable unless they're trying to be the next lowtiergod and baiting hate viewers.
IDK where I was going with this. I'm just frustrated with what I'm witnessing whenever I try to consume content outside of what I already know. The game is legitimately fun for me to play but I feel like a lot of content creators have a seriously unhealthy relationship with the game and it's hard to watch.
