Decided to use Moonlight gamestream. Allows me to use the GPU for the render device, set the resolution I want, and still have a seamless experience like in workstation. RDP is not a solution since you cannot use the GPU as a render device in RDP. Thanks everyone!
Hello,
I have a Quadro P1000 in my vSphere/vCenter server and I am trying to get it to work with PCI passthrough. I have PCI passthrough enabled and I have the device added as a PCI device to the virtual hardware. I am trying to pass it to a Windows 10 Pro machine.
The OS sees the card and the card is seen my Nvidia's control panel (although only the manager GPU utilization option is viewable). What is not working, is that vSphere is forcing it to use its own SVGA software video driver rather than the GPU. I need the machine to use the card as its main GPU. Here is the configuration parameters as well: https://pastebin.com/MzSLzWP5
I have been troubleshooting this for the past few days to no avail. I have also tried to setup the card as a vGPU but that was a failure so I am trying to just pass the whole card to this one VM. Also as a side note, if I connect a monitor to the card, I get the regular SVGA display in VMware workstation, but then the monitor also works and the Nvidia control panel shows all of the settings. I cannot seem to then disable the SVGA driver, and force the GPU as the main device. Once the SVGA driver is disabled the Workstation viewer doesn't work either.
Any ideas? All assistance is appreciated. Thank you.
edit: grammar.
