First time tent grow

I honestly have no idea what I should do growing in a tent. I am growing an auto strain with the light (300w) at 50% 18/6. If I wanted to do the minimum required to produce at least an ounce or two, what would you all recommend? The plant seems more compact than the outdoor grow so am thinking too much light? When and how should I prune? I would like to avoid training if possible (I broke a stem or two in the past)
