Why do streamers usually block the map?

I have noticed that most streamers have a certain image or their cam blocking the map? Is there any particular reason for this? I know the plays happening on your screen is awesome but I want to see how their teammates are moving. I believe that the game state drastically changes depending on how they move on the map.
