Since mid beta pings in Florida were awful 70-120. There was also a packet loss issue for a while as well, which was eventually fixed. However, in order to get ping down to near playable I had to use a VPN just to get 45-50. Recently they added a Dallas server and I noticed my ping was around 40 without the VPN.
Today my ping was 25 for the first time since the first days of beta. I hope this is not a fluke. Any other Floridians noticing they finally have the same ping as everyone else playing this game?
This has been incredibly frustrating as the server and hit reg issues have been miserable to play with and seem to worsen as ping increases or includes a 10 ms delta between players. Hit reg also seems to be a problem at peak hours vs morning before 12 pm EST, regardless of ping with it being constant.
It would appear they are adding more servers which could spread the load and obviously lower ping if placed where needed close to all major cities. If this is in fact the case and is finally happening, hats off to Riot. Thank you for fixing the #1 problem many of us have been facing in this game.
