[Opinion] Phoenix is a troll pick until Riot buffs him

With the introduction of Reyna, there is no reason anyone should be using Phoenix at pretty much any level of play. I was already under the impression that Phoenix was the worst agent in the game, and since full release it's just become much more apparent that anyone picking him would be better off picking Reyna (for consistent flash and more powerful and more frequent healing) or Viper (for aoe damage and damage based smoke).

I don't really know what buffs Phoenix could receive at this point, and certainly don't think nerfing other agents (significantly, anyway) is a solution. Mainly, I think his ultimate needs to be reworked from the ground up to be more viable. Even though it is his only unique ability and can often provide a kill or two, using it in a 1vX is suicide, as any two people should be able to hear his ult activate and either flank to his fire source or push it very aggressively if they kill his ult fast enough.

It seems like every other duelist gets better sustain (specifically Jett and Reyna), and even if you don't believe he's the weakest agent it's pretty difficult to say he isn't the weakest duelist. Maybe his healing needs buffed? Or the DoT from his smoke?

I love Phoenix for his personality and character interactions, and I think the idea behind him is wonderful. What do you guys think about a Phoenix buff/rework on some of his abilities to make him viable?
