When do people actually start using/ playing around smokes properly

Coming back in to the game because I just enjoy the look, feel, and pace of the game. And generally when I started playing it was my first drop into tac shooters so I sunk my mmr but I'm cool with climbing through. I'm like iron(1) most likely and I've accepted that in my rank even when I communicate it most don't play around my smokes properly. So just curious and wanna see where the mind of the player base is, when do you see players start to play around/ use controllers properly? Let's keep it civil also please just kinda wanna chat about it.
