I went to a used car lot to find a particular vehicle I found online. The dealer said the that it was located at another dealership(Turns out the car was posted online at both locations). He stated that he would have it there the next day.

The next day I call up to see about the car and doing a test drive. The dealer said when his guys showed up to the other location it was already loaned out to another customer. He apologized and said it would be there the next day.

I find it highly suspicious that he did not call the second location ahead of time. When did this supposed second customer show up? What time are they returning the vehicle?

The car has 146k miles on it, so it’s possible some issue came up. The check engine light may have come on and they are just trying to hide it until they clear the code.

Has anyone been through this? Am I being paranoid?
