USB-C PD PPS (Programmable Power Supply) - Is there a standalone controller for this?

Post Body

So from what I understand, the PPS standard allows fine-grained voltage and current limit controls within the charger itself, so less conversion loss (heat output) happens inside the device being charged.

This makes me wonder if it is possible to use such a charger as a sort of tiny bench power supply, by using some controller chip to negotiate voltage/current and pass that through to some electrical terminals.

I know that such adapters exist for standard USB-C PD (tells charger to output, say, 20V and has a barrel jack on the other end) so I wonder if it is possible for PPS.
