Guys, just got my test results and I’m OFFICIALLY cured after 1 year and a half of suffering. It took me only one round of antibiotics. I’d like to thank you all for the help and wish you the best in this healing journey.
🌸 How I caught it: I was immunocompromised because of a prednisone treatment for long COVID. Met this guy on Tinder, we used a condom but semen leaked from the base of the condom and it touched my vulva, maybe some got in.
🌸 My symptoms: after two weeks I started with EXTREME ovulation pain (it never felt so strong), pain when passing urine, back pain, low-grade fever, a lot of watery, white, lotion-like discharge with white flecks on them (I thought it was a yeast infection but it wasn’t) instead of my usual fertile egg white cervical mucus. That type of fertile mucus I always had disappeared during my infection. I also had vaginal dryness during intercourse and that was unusual for me. Right after those symptoms showed up I looked for a doctor, they ran those typical STI tests (gonorrhea, HPV, trich, chlamydia), they came back negative and doctors were like “maybe it’s all in your head, everything looks fine” (🤡). I also had strawberry-pattern colpitis and no doctor could find the cause. Also, for one year and a half I had on and off neon yellow clear discharge, urethral discharge, vaginal burning and itching, BV and yeast infection episodes, pelvic pain, pain during intercourse. I got a copper IUD without knowing I had UU overgrowth. Right after I started with reactive arthritis symptoms (joint pain, low grade fever, red inflamed eyes, blurred vision), including dermatological abnormalities such as nail deformities.
🌸 My diagnosis: started searching on the internet, found about Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma. Convinced a doctor to test me. Tested positive for UU. The lab that ran my test automatically ran an antibiogram on the Ureaplasma strain I had and it showed sensitivity to all drugs used against it, including doxy and azi.
🌸 My treatment: doctor knew nothing about Ureaplasma treatment so I told her about the treatment I read on the bible here. She agreed on prescribing me those meds, just as described on the title of this post.
🌸 The aftermath: still have some symptoms like joint pain and urinary discomfort but they come and go and are getting better with time. Discharge is gone and now I have my normal fertile egg white mucus again and the vaginal dryness symptom is gone too.
