We have a few announcements, the first being a reminder of the following rule:

Please note that list spam videos and blog spam will not be tolerated without express moderator approval. When in doubt, ask the mod team.

This will be expanded to include "low effort content". Although there are a lot of blog-posts on the front page, there aren't a ton of new posts so we'll use our discretion. If we see the same user posting numerous blog-posts in a short period of time, chances are we're going to be deleting them without notice. Secondly a reminder of the following rule: "Low or poor quality video posts will be removed at the discretion of the moderators. Any content that is spamlike in nature, uninteresting/unappealing, or does not represent urban myths can be deleted."

An example of a high quality video would be, perhaps, a scene from a movie that incorporates an urban myth. Another good example: a high production YouTube channel creates a funny skit that is very relevant to an urban legend. If you created a YouTube video, you may want to send it to the mod team before posting.

Bi-weekly Discussion Topics

We are interested in posting Stickies regarding popular topics in urban myths to encourage discussions and content. The following themes come to mind that can be future discussion threads:

-Babysitter Myths

-Myths about high school or university

-The serial killer on the loose with a hook for his hand

-Etc

Hope this is of interest! This idea was proposed to the mods, and it was asked that the community provides input. There are a ton of myths out there, and we can absolutely take requests for future concepts, myths, topics. The thread can outline and retell the myth, and we can discuss in the comments. For example, the myths about the hook-handed serial killer have a moral to the story warning the reader about the dangers of valuing sexuality over safety or whatever traditional value.
