I live in SW Idaho and summers are hot (95F with lots of 100F days/weeks) and dry around here. I'm planning on capping off our sprinklers on the garden side of our yard and converting our planter boxes to wicking beds. How deep do these need to be? I have no problem digging down if I need to but I'm trying to figure out the best solution here.
Also, what is the best way to raise tomatoes? Our first year growing them was amazing... The second year produced nothing. I figured it was from over-watering but maybe not?
I really wish I would have learned a lot of this stuff growing up. :(
