I’m sad to hear that things have declined. I had to make a bus connection in Guayaquil- its reputation was bad enough then that I didn’t want to stick around.

I spent a lot of time there in 2008- sounds like it hasn’t changed too much. The Ecuadorians I got to know were awesome people. Met some bad folks too, but I didn’t have any problems
