I know that you have to upload conscious when someone's alive, but if I'm not mistaken, there are people in Lakeview, died decades ago(like Ingrid's grandma) than horizen?

So I'm guessing that there are 2 possibilities:

1- these people succeeded to survive until upload Technology discovered, died like 80-90 year old( we know that Ingrid's grandma lived in 1930's for instance) or even older, but in their digital afterlife they wanted to spend their eternity in their younger ages, however only 20-30 year old photos of them are black and white, so they chose to exist this way, instead of being an old fella in Lakeview,

2- you can create an avatar out of some kinda DNA, like hair, tissue or sth(idk how to recreate consciousness tho.)

If the second one is doable, then Nora's dad could've recover his wife.

have they ever mentioned about why they couldn't upload Nora's mom? Am I missing something?
