Auditioning for the music performance program this February, do I need an accompanist?

The audition requirements say you have to supply your own accompanist, but not if accompanists are mandatory. I’ve never done a university audition before, and I’m not sure if accompanists are required. If it makes any difference I’m auditioning for the violin performance program. Most of the pieces I chose don’t even have piano parts. Does anyone have any experience with this ?
