Confused about CR/NCR, can I use it for prerequisites requirements?

I understand you can’t use CR/NCR for program requirements, such as for ECO101 for the economics major etc, but what about for a specific course within my program?
I took CSC108 in first year and CRed it, I now want to take ECO482H1 - Machine Learning Applications in Macroeconomic Finance, for which CSC108 is a prerequisite. Am I allowed to take the course?
