I decided to write this post on the advice of one of my friends. I am going to keep some details vague and stay anonymous because I do not feel comfortable being known as the person who reveals all this stuff. I just want to clear all of this off my mind by writing them and also make sure everyone else stays safe. TW// Sexual Abuse this is the story of how I got sexually assaulted.

I’m an actress, and around 2017, I was still pursuing my education in drama major in Cal State Fullerton, when I was contacted by my abuser. In this post, I will call her Francis. At the time, she was studying at the University of Oregon, and she wanted to cast me in one of her short films. Right off the bat, her behavior was very weird and off-putting. She was obsessed with me being Japanese and would constantly fawn over it and bring it up in our conversations. I tried to be polite, but it was obvious that she had some sexual fetish for Japanese girls. She mentioned that she was half Japanese from her mother's side, but I personally didn't believe her because she looked like your typical white girl. Her obsession with Japanese people was so intense that she even wrote a couple of papers on a bunch of Japanese writers (all of those writers were perverts btw). Another thing she brought up about herself was that she was an expert snooker player and even won some prizes. I personally did not believe her because she looked so young (maybe she lied about her age too), but I googled her later on, and her claims seemed to be true.

We started the production of this short film soon after. I don't want to give out too much detail on this project. However, I will say that it was a nonsensical-arthouse short film that also dealt with a lot of Japanese themes and imagery. Besides me, there were 2 other Japanese actresses involved with that project. During the production, we were constantly touched and received unwanted compliments from Francis. We endured however because we needed the credit and the money.

That short film was finally released in 2019. Francis asked me again to star in a series of short music videos she was producing for her friend. I said yes again because I needed the money and needed to further build my portfolio. We started filming around the streets of LA. This series of music videos were also a bunch of amateurish, nonsensical art house short films just like our last project. They were supposed to be uploaded to Francis’s friend's Instagram to promote his music. He was also a weird, creepy guy, but he was much more subtle than Francis. This time, there was another actress on the set, but Francis's whole attention was on me. She would constantly touch my breast either completely by accident or just to try to straighten my t-shirt. Nonetheless, it was deeply uncomfortable for me.

After the filming was done, we went to Francis’s apartment to celebrate. We were having pizzas there. It was late at night, and I didn’t want to spend money on food. So I decided to go there.

After having pizza, I felt sleepy. I decided to take a quick nap on her sofa. I woke up to my shirt being removed. I opened my eyes, and realize everyone else is gone except Francis. She was trying to sexually assault me. I started screaming at her, grabbed my shirt, and ran off her apartment.

I never contacted her ever since. She tried to call me several times nonstop, but I never answered. Not only that, she still has a couple of pictures of me on her personal Instagram, even though I told her before to never upload them.

I don’t know if I’ll ever move on from this. Every day I repeat the same events over and over in my head. The difference now is that I started to speak up about it. Please be careful out there and look out for this individual.
