...but it's funny that I was just looking up a popular beer for unrelated reasons and noticed that while this beer had a 3.8 on RateBeer, and a 4.2 on Beer Advocate... it has a 4 on Untappd. Seems like Untappd got this one just right! 😉
But seriously, ratings tend to stabilize. Those silly 1s get negated by silly 5s. It's those new entries that tend to be most flawed (10 checkins on a local beer than has a 4.7... unsustainable), but that's why the global weighted rating is so helpful there.
Now ratings by style, that's an interesting. A 4-rated pilsner is like a 4.8-rated IPA. I'd really like to see a style-weighted rating added.
