chasing people, the act of losing oneself in the infatuation of them is a type of escapism. life is stressful, it’s simpler to fixate on gaining their approval than improving in your own overwhelming life. lack of coping skills leads us to distract from ourselves in harmful ways. how much of it is really about how great they are or more about us not wanting to face ourselves. not always the case but sometimes it is.
