The love and care of another is a gift

Years ago I had such a beautiful gift

She came to me completely unexpected

As if sent from the higher powers that be

She was a gift truly and she had her own gifts

She was gifted with the sense to see inside

She could see parts of me I could not

She could see the good and bad to be revealed

She had the gifts of vision and foresight

A beautiful gift for a beautiful woman

Someone with beauty inside and out

Never had I been so well seen

Never had I been so well understood

Never before had I felt so loved and cared for

Never before had I felt such a strong connection

Never before had I been so desired and wanted

Never before had I genuinely wanted someone

Her name simple and sweet

Her name synonymous with vision and foresight

She was the greatest gift I could ever ask for

If only I could have been the gift she deserved

If only I had the vision to better myself back then

If only I had the foresight she had

If only I could have seen inside her

Just like she could see inside me

I wouldn't have had to grieve for so long

I should have seen and trusted her when I could

Though I have processed everything now

Though I know I am solely at fault

I still wish for another chance with her

To comfort her and care for her

To console her and see her

To love her patiently as I should have

She deserved better than what I gave her

She deserves whatever good she has now

She deserves all the love and care she desires

To be seen and understood patiently

To be happy in her life

I hope she is well and I wish only her the best
