On December 7, 2014 during the Midwest Furfest (MFF) convention in Rosemont IL, 19 people were hospitalized due to a chlorine gas attack. The “bomb”, a glass jar containing chlorine powder, went off in the Hyatt Regency hotel on the staircase between the ninth and tenth floors, where many of the convention’s attendees were roomed. The news treated the attack as a joke, due to furries being the target. A police investigation was launched and the attack was deemed deliberate. However the culprit is still unknown.

Apparently there is footage somewhere online from the hotel security camera that narrows down the suspects to 17 people, though I can’t find it.

In 2015, “Ryan Hill” confessed to the attack, though it was later revealed he was not in the state at the time and could not have committed it.

Across social media and furry websites suspicion has been cast on the group “Furry Raiders”, though it’s likely hearsay due to the group being generally disliked. Still worth looking into though.

[Edit] I feel it's also worth mentioning that we shouldn't rule out that someone inside the furry community committed the attack. In fact, it's more than likely to be the case.

That’s all I know at this time.

As a member of the furry community myself, I’m invested in finding who the attacker was. My fear is that he/she may attack again at a future convention. I’ll be doing my own research and making a video covering this topic, but I thought I’d post something here to maybe get some help. Anyone who contributes will be credited in the video.
