Need help remembering a certain unsolved mystery

So I can't recall the specifics, but I'm looking for a certain case. A man breaks into a house, kills one of the kids while they sleep, then kills the father. The mother and daughter hide in an attic like area, then the killer ends up killing them. Afterwards, the killer remains inside the house eating their food and taking a nap. I believe it took place in am Asian country, and the killer was suspected of being an American soldier.
