What happened to Chase Massner?

Chase was 26 yrs old when he went missing in 2014. He had been discharged from the military due to Bipolar disorder & PTSD. Charley project has few details, this link to a story on Crime online has way more info of the timeline when he went missing. His girlfriend & his friend Brad Clement both sound sketchy to me.
