Stable build from source? Help!!
Post Body

Help! I can't find a stable source build!

attempts:

  1. UE 5.4.4 (release) result: BSOD during build

  2. UE 5.4 result: BSOD during build

  3. UE 5.3 result: BSOD during build

ok so did some searching. Apparently some settings on the Mobo and chipset can be adjusted. Updated all my drivers and adjusted cpu settings lower.

Voila

  1. UE 5.3 built successfully. I run the build... fatal error "missing modules"

  2. UE 5.4 "build fails"

.....

serious wtf. Can anyone confirm a working source build of UE 5??

edit: I'm downloading 5.2 and 5.5(release) now. Hopefully something works.

edit: I finally got it working. Built UE 5.5(release).

The troubleshooting steps were a nightmare. First make sure your motherboard Bios and Graphics card drivers are fully updated. Also make sure all updates for windows are installed and updated.

I was using an Intel i9 / gigabyte 790ud ac bios that refused to update and needed to be manually updated. Another partial solution is to reduce the Performance cores to 49x (although after the final bios update this wasnt needed anymore).

Then I removed all the "Intermediate" folders in every build I was trying to build. Also I removed all the .sln files from the different build folders. When I setup project in bash, I used the --force command as well. (./setup.bat --force)

Generated files and then started up VS using the solution file generated. Built in VS and no errors this time.
